retread| Theory #374: Glasnost 11 February 2006

Retreads are quality posts from yesterweeks that are given a second run on Saturdays. This one was originally posted by ALBUS on 1 December 2005.

As a segregated Muslim event, religious, social, or otherwise, winds down and attendance peters out, restrictions on inter-gender interaction loosen, and the atmosphere becomes freer, even if super-conservatives continue to be present in significant fractions. This phenomenon becomes more pronounced the later at night the event wears on.

i wonder if this is unique to muslim events or is part of a larger pattern of glasnost at social events, in which case desegregation would simply be a particularly muslim manifestation. also, do the observed minglers include “superconservatives” themselves?
